We find it inconceivable to love horses but not nature. Still, it’s a fact: the textile industry is one of the most polluting ones in the world. We do not pretend to change this situation alone and without delay, but we are convinced that we have a role to play. We are fully committed to defending the three following points:

• Consuming less by creating products made to last
• Producing in a reasonable way
• Making riders aware of the impact of their choice.

Sensitive Fabrics

A large part of the pollution related to the textile industry is caused during the manufacturing of materials.

For example, the materials we use for our trousers and jackets are developed in partnership with EUROJERSEY ( ) which is committed to reducing its use of water, energy, waste and chemicals. At Horse Pilot, more than 80% of the materials we use come from eco-responsible manufacturers. Our goal is to reach 100% by 2022.

Not only do we respect the social and environmental standards in force, but we also regularly visit our garment factories. We make sure that working conditions are good, that all employees are of legal age, that they have a salary above the national average and have access to ongoing training programmes. We control the principle of recycling material waste in order not to throw it away unnecessarily, to optimize each use of material and to recycle waste.

Proving a real wish for transparency, Horse Pilot adheres to the FASHION REVOLUTION movement ( )

The choice of our packaging materials is primarily based on substances that are either recycled or not issued from the oil industry.

Our products do not contain animal furs and our parka production lines are subject to the ethic Responsible Down Standard RDS (Responsible Down Standard - This standard aims to ensure that our down products only come from ducks and geese that have not been subjected to cruelty.

80% of our transport are made by boats and not by planes, which pollute more and emit CO2.

We believe that it is the end-user’s voice that will have the greater impact when it comes to strategic choices in the future. For these choices to be the right ones and to be favorable to the planet, clear, complete and transparent information is needed.
