Interview Julien Courbet|Passion équitation|Cavalier équitation|Horse Pilot

At the Paris Horse Show, Horse Pilot had the chance to meet Julien Courbet, an iconic figure of French television and also a passionate equestrian. He combines work and passion by hosting the show “Mise en selle” on the channel Equidia.

We had the pleasure of welcoming him to our stand and took the opportunity to ask him a few questions about his passion!

Julien Courbet, how did your passion for horseback riding start?

Julien Courbet: Previously, I knew very little about horseback riding; no one in my family or circle practiced it. I stumbled upon this sport 6 years ago, completely by chance. We were in Normandy, and I was looking for an activity for my daughter – it was horseback riding. By accompanying her to the club, I decided to try it myself. After my first showjump, I never stopped riding.

What was the last competition you participated in?

Julien Courbet: I participate in the CSI 1-star competition held alongside the CSI 5-star event, organized as part of the 4th edition of the Gucci Paris Masters.

Where do you train?

Julien Courbet: I train three times a week at a private stable, l’écurie du cerisier bleu (in Cailly-sur-Eure, Eure).

What is your most beautiful memory in horseback riding?

Julien Courbet: It was when I participated in the Gucci competition in Bordeaux. Taking part in this event was a very memorable experience for me. On one hand, I met great riders in a fantastic setting, a bit like a young footballer getting the chance to play at the Stade de France. On the other hand, it was also on this occasion that I achieved my first victory.

What equestrian dream would you like to achieve?

Julien Courbet: Besides, of course, continuing competitions in showjumping, I would like to ride across the magical and wild landscapes from the movie “Dances with Wolves” (the Dakota plains).

What do you think of Horse Pilot clothing?

Julien Courbet: I find these clothes well-tailored and original, both in the cut and in the choice of colors. The elastic material is also very comfortable.

> We would like to thank the presenter once again for kindly sharing his equestrian passion and love for horses with us.
